Know your numbers. Build a hydration strategy that’s specific to you.
Athletes can lose dramatically different amounts of sodium in their sweat. Yet most hydration recommendations are based on generalized guidelines rather than your individual physiology.
A sweat concentration test gives you objective information about your sweat sodium concentration, helping you make smarter decisions about how you hydrate during training and racing.
Is Sweat Testing Right for You?
This service is ideal for athletes who:
- Struggle to perform in hot or humid conditions
- Regularly cramp, particularly late in races
- Feel excessively thirsty or have a dry mouth during training or racing
- Feel bloated when trying to stay hydrated
- Need to pee frequently during training or racing
- Are tired of copying someone else’s hydration strategy
- Want to optimize their hydration based on their own physiology
- Have an important race coming up and want to take the guesswork out of their hydration strategy
What You’ll Get
Your Sweat Sodium Result
We’ll measure the concentration of sodium in your sweat, reported in mg/L.
A Personalized Interpretation
We’ll review your results with you and explain what they mean for your individual hydration strategy.
Practical Recommendations
We’ll help you translate your results into a hydration strategy you can use in training and racing, including guidance on your sodium and fluid needs.
What the Test Involves
You’ll sit comfortably for approximately 30–45 minutes while a small patch on your forearm is stimulated to produce sweat. We’ll collect the sample and analyze it.
No needles. No exercise. Simple and non-invasive.
The Result
The test gives you a number. The value is knowing what to do with it. You leave knowing how much sodium you lose in your sweat—and what to actually do with that information.

SALTY SWEATER 💧💧
I Finally Understood What I Was Losing
The sweat test helped me determine my sodium loss per litre of fluid so I could optimize my hydration. Since completing the test, I’ve almost doubled the amount of sodium I take per litre—from 50–100 mg/L to 300–500 mg/L. My performance has improved, and I’m able to maintain my pace and power for longer and finish races strong.

SALTY SWEATER 💧💧
I Finally Stopped Cramping
I wanted to nail down my sodium replenishment for racing and training. The sweat test helped me get my sodium dialled in, and I now follow Precision’s recommendations based on my test results. I’m no longer cramping when I was before and I’ve qualified for the 70.3 World Championships!

SUPER SALTY SWEATER 💧💧💧
I Was Surprised by the Results!
I wanted to remove the guesswork from my nutrition plan when it came to sodium. The results showed me I needed more sodium, so I incorporated more into my nutrition plan. I now have better fuelling for long-distance training and racing, and more confidence that my sodium needs are actually being met.
