Forget the green beer this St Patrick’s Day.  Green smoothies are what you want!    Greens are a great addition to any smoothie to help increase the vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants.  They can also help with a little internal cleansing first thing in the morning.

Shamrock Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 limes fresh squeezed or peeled
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 heaping tbsp Chlorella
  • 1/2 English cucumber
  • 4 cups green kale de-stemed (spinach or romaine will do if you don't have any kale)
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 1 stalk celery
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 " fresh ginger
  • 1 scoop of your favourite protein powder such as Progressive VegEssential

Instructions

  1. Layer in a blender and puree until smooth
