Looking for a tasty energy snack that doesn’t come in a package with a whole bunch of ingredients you don’t want? Then try these tasty bites to keep you energized. These are also great about 2 hours pre-workout to help fuel you up for your endurance activity. Because of the high fat content these will take a while to digest, so they are not suited for right before or after activity, but would be great on camping or hiking trips to keep you going.
Ingredients
1 cup ground Almonds (raw)
1/4 cup raw cacao or cocoa powder
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
1/3 cup Almond butter
1/4 cup coconut flakes (un-sulfured)
Method:
Grind almonds in a food processor until the reach a fine powder. Add in cacao, almond butter and honey and pulse a few more times. With wet hands roll into small balls about 1.5-2″ in diameter, or the size of a golf ball. Roll balls with coconut flakes. Place in fridge to harden, or freeze for later.
